St. Simeon Cathedral

The temple is located in the center of Chelyabinsk in a residential area. The first small church on this site was built at the end of the 19th century. But a few years later a large temple was erected here. After the revolution and the Great Patriotic War, it became the only surviving temple in the city. It has been reconstructed many times. However, it acquired its modern look after the restructuring in the late 1980s. The temple has the status of a cathedral and many shrines are kept here.

Holy Trinity Church

This is the largest temple in the city. Located in the center of Chelyabinsk between the city's Trade Center and the circus. Built in 1913. In Soviet times, a local history museum was located here for a long time. In the 1980-1990s, the building was transferred to the diocese and consecrated. Restoration work continues to this day. Now there are the relics of the Monk Seraphim of Swarovskiy, Andrew the Primordial, the Great Martyr Tryphon.

Temple of Alexander Nevsky

It was built in 1916. This is a project by Alexander Pomerantsev. After the revolution, all valuables were seized. In different periods, a printing house, a warehouse, a planetarium, and a chess club were located here. Since the early 1980s, it has housed the organ and chamber music hall. But in the late 1980s, reconstruction of the building began. And in 2010 the first divine service was held.

Temple of St. George the Victorious

It was built in 2009. Located in the Metallurgical District on Zhukova Street in the center of a residential area. Built with money allocated by the Metallurgical Plant and donations from local residents. The author of the project is the architect V. Kvach. Now in the temple there are many shrines, including the relics of St. George the Victorious. A Sunday school, a library, and a women's club are open under him.

Basil the Great Cathedral

Located in a public garden on Lenin Avenue. The temple was founded in 1996. Many works during construction were carried out by employees of the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant. A. Kuzmin became the architect of the temple. The main value is the icon "The Appearance of the Mother of God on Pukhtitskaya Gora", which is embroidered with beads by the nun of the Odigitrievsky Monastery.

Temple of Sergius of Radonezh

Erected at the intersection of Pobedy Avenue and Chicherin Street. The temple was built with donations from parishioners. It is a massive one-domed church. It was built of red brick. There is a chapel nearby. It is not only a religious but also a cultural center. On the territory of the temple there is an educational center "Hold on" for schoolchildren, students and people under 35 years old. There is also a Sunday school.

Temple of the Icon "Satisfy My Sorrows"

The church was built in 2000 near the 9th city hospital on 5th Electrovoznaya street. The temple is a building with a five-headed quadrangle to the eastern part. Since 2017, it has been part of the Epiphany Monastery. The icon helps not only to quench intense sadness, but also heals people from various diseases. That is why it was built next to the hospital.

Temple of the Icon "Joy of All Who Sorrow"

The temple is located on the territory of the Odigitrievsky nunnery, which was built before the revolution. Under Soviet rule, it was closed. At this place, at the beginning of the last century, fruit trees were planted. Unfortunately, only one building has survived to this day. It was returned to the church and in 2000 it was consecrated as a temple of the Joy of All Who Sorrow icon.

Temple of the Hodegetria Icon

Located at the station square. It was built in the mid-2000s. The temple is small and looks like a chapel. Dedicated to the icon "Hodegetria", which translates as "Guide". That is why travelers try to pray to her before starting the journey. Earlier on this place there was already a church. It was erected at the end of the 19th century. But during the Soviet era, it was demolished.

Church of Cyril and Methodius

In 2012, construction began on a church at the Chelyabinsk Orthodox gymnasium. The church is dedicated to Saints Equal to the Apostles Cyril and Methodius, who are Slovenian teachers, educators, authors of the first translations of the Holy Scriptures. They are the patrons of students and teachers. The students of the gymnasium are now singing in the choir and helping with the service.

Temple of the Icon "Collecting the Dead"

Located next to the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant in the industrial zone. Built in 2003. The architect is Andrey Anisimov. There are two limits in the temple. The main one is dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God “Seeking the Lost”. And the lower one - to the holy Royal Passion-bearers. There is a special baptismal font that is allowed for full immersion during baptism.

Located on 60th anniversary of October street next to the Victory Garden. Construction has not yet been completed. It is planned that a complex will be built here. Temple of the Inexhaustible Chalice Icon

It was erected in 1998, thanks to the support of the staff of the hospital №9. Until 2006, the temple was named in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Satisfy my sorrows." But already in 2007 it received a new name "Inexhaustible Chalice". Now it is a completely independent parish. The image of this icon appeared relatively recently, but it helps all those who suffer. Especially those who suffer from alcoholism, tobacco smoking, drug addiction.

Temple of the Unexpected Joy Icon

The temple is located on Vorovskogo street and is directly connected with the hospital №1. Here the church was opened back in 1991 in one of the buildings of the hospital. Now the construction of a new temple with 8 domes is underway. The most revered is the icon of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy". But there are also icons with the relics of the holy saints: Sergius of Radonezh, the Holy Royal Passion-bearers.

Temple of Xenia of Petersburg

In the Leninsky district, near the Stadium stop, a church dedicated to Xenia of Petersburg is under construction. The work is carried out with donations from parishioners. This small wooden temple is located next to the oncological dispensary. Previously, this church was located in the northwest of the city. But in 2016 it was decided to postpone it. Built in 2014. And it is located next to the South Ural Linear Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for transport.
