Patong
The most crowded, partying and noisy beach on the island, where life is in full swing 24 hours a day. Tourists who go to Phuket in search of parties and entertainment should stay at one of the many hotels in the vicinity of Patong. Most likely, you won't be able to get enough sleep, but a lot of impressions are guaranteed. During the day you can sunbathe on comfortable sun loungers, and in the evening you can taste cocktails in bars and dance.
Karon
Not only is Karon considered one of the best beaches in Phuket, but it also sometimes falls into different ratings of the most-most beaches in the world. It is a strip of coastline several kilometers long, covered with yellow sand and washed by the turquoise waters of the Adaman Sea. The entrance to the beach is free, there is enough space for everyone, at the height of the season the water temperature is only slightly different from the air temperature.
Kata
This beach closes the three leading beaches in Phuket. It is located south of Karon and has a more modest size, the length of the coast is only 1.5 km. Kata is characterized by a wide coastal strip and light sand. It is much quieter and fewer people here, the tracks are in the distance, so the noise of annoying motorcycles is not heard. From November to April, the sea is completely calm, and the water in the bay warms up to 30 ° C.
Nai Harn
Located in the southern part of the island. The beach is very picturesque and quiet, surrounded by green thickets of tropical trees. All the necessary infrastructure is here, although to some it may seem rather scarce. Inland, just beyond Nai Harn, across the road, lies a lake connected to the sea by a narrow channel. Walking alleys are laid around the reservoir, sports and playgrounds are open on the adjacent territory.
Kata noi
Quiet beach for wealthy family travelers. Here you will not find budget accommodation, cheap cafes with street food and noisy entertainment - everything is quite respectable and sedate. Kata Noi is located south of Kata - the road leading here ends in a dead end. The length of the swimming area is about 700 meters, the width ranges from 10-50 meters.
Karon Noah
It is part of the large Karon Beach. However, it is this site that is separated by a cape and belongs to the Le Meridien hotel. Entrance to tourists who do not live here is not limited. The length is 250 meters. It is calmer here than in the neighboring territories. The sand is white and fine, almost does not burn even in the heat. Waves rise low but strong. Sun loungers are freely available. Within walking distance there is an extensive green area with a swimming pool.
Kamala
The beach is located between Surin and Patong. It is mainly known among independent travelers; the mass tourist prefers more promoted places. On Kamala Beach, a strip of white sand stretches for almost 2 km and ends at rocky slopes. The water here is clear and clean, the entrance to the sea is shallow, which is convenient for children, and the infrastructure is at a very decent level.
Ao San
Located in the southwest of the island. The length is about 200 meters. Covered with sand, but there are boulders in the water along the edge of the beach. The entrance to the water is convenient. Shallow water does not last long. Ten meters from the coastal lily, a sandy section of the bottom ends, and stones begin. Since the water is clear and clean, you can dive with scuba diving or with a mask and fins. Equipment is rented on the shore. The restaurant and bungalows are less than a hundred meters away.
Bang Tao
Quiet beach, on the territory of which expensive hotels and apartments are located. Even in the high season, there are few visitors here, in contrast to Karon. You can walk along the coastline for hours, as the coastal strip has a rather impressive length. Bang Tao is surrounded by conifers and palms. In their shade, it is very pleasant to sip a cocktail in one of the beach bars or lie on a sun lounger.
Mai Kao
The beach stretches for 11 km along the coast of the Indian Ocean. It is located in the Sirinath National Park. In the vicinity of Mai Khao, there are no cafes, restaurants and places where you can rent a sun lounger, but the beauty of almost untouched nature stretches around. Due to the proximity of the airport, planes fly over the beach area very low - such a neighborhood, frankly, is not for everybody.
Yanui
The beach is located as far as possible from the airport of the island, behind it there are only rocks covered with tropical thickets. It is conventionally divided into two parts, the total length of the coastline does not exceed 150 meters. There is practically no infrastructure on Yanui, but at the same time it cannot be called wild: there are sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, you can also rent a kayak or a snorkeling mask. The nearest hotel is 100 meters away.
Nai Thon
The beach is considered one of the smallest in Phuket. Its length is about 1 km, and its width is no more than 50 meters, although at low tide it increases significantly. It is located 30 km from the capital of the island and only 10 km from the airport. But despite such a modest size, it is quite popular in the high season, and in the low season, on the contrary, local hotels are closed. The beach is suitable for a quiet family vacation away from noisy parties.
Freedom
Just a few years ago, Freedom was a completely wild place, despite its location near Patong. Here you could even see tourists living in tents right on the shore. The beach can be reached by boat, taxi or tuk-tuk, along a not very good road. You will have to pay for the entrance to Freedom, but despite this, there is no shortage of visitors here.
Surin
The beach is located in the central part of Phuket between Kamala and Bang Tao. It occupies a small area, stretching along the coast for about 1 km. You can hide from the scorching sun in the shade of palms and trees growing on the edge of the beach strip. There is no promenade here. Just a series of trolleys and small street cafes lined up along the cobbled road.
Nai Yang
The beach area is located in the northwest of the island. Nai Yang is almost 3 km of golden sand, lying in an even layer, and a magnificent azure sea. In the highest season, a moderate number of tourists rest here, and in the low season you can generally sit on the beach for hours all alone. Along the coastline is the only street with shops, cafes, massage parlors and tour desks.
Three Trang
A small quiet beach about 700 meters long located south of Patong. Translated, the name of this place means "crystal clear". Only recently have they begun to build hotels and restaurants here, before Tri Tang was the fiefdom of local residents. The beach is mainly occupied by the guests of the surrounding hotels, there are quite a few casual tourists. When swimming, you should be careful, as there are sharp corals at the bottom.
Banana
If the Nai Thon beach is considered small, then the nearby Banana Beach is very tiny, its length does not exceed 200 meters. It is located in a secluded bay, sheltered from prying eyes by rocks and dense thickets. The strip of sand on Banana Beach is very narrow, moreover, it is strewn with large boulders. In the central part, the waves reach directly to the trees, creating inconvenience to visitors.
Laem Sing
Located about 1 km from Surin, it hides in a small bay, where you can go down only by stairs. This beach is often called a secret beach, although it will not be difficult to get here following the signs. Nearby are luxury hotels where celebrities often stay. The main contingent is Italian tourists, who for some reason are very fond of this particular piece of the coast.
Rawai
Known as the very first resort in Phuket, residents of the island's capital, located about 17 km away, have been coming here for a long time. The village itself is home to a fairly large community of foreigners downshifters, thanks to whom there is a relaxed atmosphere. From the iconic sights of the place, the Museum of Seashells can be distinguished, where rather rare specimens of sea mollusks are presented.
Laem-Ka
Refers to the southeastern part of Phuket. On both sides it is surrounded by boat beaches that are not suitable for swimming. The length is about 150 meters. The shore is covered with sand. The shallow water stretches for several meters, so it is suitable for visiting with children. Locals sell food, which replaces the missing cafe nearby. From entertainment, excursions are available, including a visit to a coral island, which is visible to the naked eye.
Layan
This is one of the most beautiful beaches not only in Phuket, but in the whole of Thailand. It adjoins Bang Tao and is actually a continuation of the latter. Its coastline is in the shape of an arc - wide in the center and tapering at the edges. The coastal strip covered with sand is surrounded by pine groves, and a small river with a pier for fishing boats flows nearby. The choice of hotels on Layan is small, almost all of them belong to the high price category.
Kalim
The beaches of Kalim and Patong are separated by a rock. Contrary to the first impression, you won't be able to get directly from one beach to another - you need to go along the road. There are a lot of stones on Kalima, so it is not very popular with tourists. But it is precisely this moment that attracts travelers desperately looking for solitude and relaxation from noise, parties and large crowds of people.
Ao Yong
A picturesque beach in the south of Phuket, which is considered by many tourists to be one of the most beautiful places on the island due to its magnificent scenery. There is a yacht club here, where many sailing ships are moored. If you wish, you can take a few lessons in yacht management or just go on a boat trip. Ao Yong has a restaurant, massage parlor and sun lounger rental.
Pansy
Available for vacationers who stayed at the Amanpuri and The Surin Phuket 5 hotels. Length - 400 meters. On one side it is fenced off by a cliff, on the other - by impressive boulders.
