What is "Glade of fairy tales"
This is an original museum in Yalta, aimed at families with children. Amusing figures stand in the glades of Russian and Ukrainian fairy tales, the meadow of Pushkin's fairy tales and the meadow of European and American fairy tales. You will see the house of Baba Yaga, a Slavic settlement and the Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors. In the warm season, a summer theater works here.
The history of the "Glade of Fairy Tales" is very interesting. In 1923-1924, a little boy Pasha Bezrukov suffered from a very serious illness - tuberculosis of the throat. Doctors gave little chance of his recovery, but one of the doctors advised the boy's parents to move to Yalta. Walks around the Crimean city have borne fruit. Pasha not only recovered, but also left Yalta to build an adult life.
He survived World War II, retired and decided to move back to Yalta, the city that saved him as a child. Already in old age, Bezrukov began to engage in sculpture and made various figures of fairy-tale characters from metal, plaster and stone. When Pavel Pavlovich died, professional sculptors from Moscow, Kiev, Simferopol, Yalta and Vilnius continued his work. Gradually, the collection of sculptures grew and turned into an open-air museum.
